According to ELSEVIER HEALTH SCIENCES as nearly 80 million people in the United States affecting hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD) the leading cause of death , any intervention that can lower blood pressure has the potential to save lives.Sarah A. Johnson, from, Florida State University (Florida, USA), and colleagues enrolled 48 postmenopausal women, with pre- and stage 1-hypertension, to receive either 22 g rams of freeze-dried blueberry powder or 22 grams of a control powder, to consume for eight weeks.
